About Columbia Academy
Steeped in history and tradition, Columbia Academy covers 67 beautiful acres in the heart of Columbia, Tennessee, a community located approximately 45 minutes south of Nashville. The campus was built in 1890 as the Columbia Arsenal. In 1905, it became the Columbia Military Academy, a prestigious school that attracted students from across the country and around the world. In the fall of 1979, the CMA board turned the school over to a board of members of local churches of Christ, and the school became Columbia Academy.
Since its inception, Columbia Academy has been providing a challenging, yet Christ-centered college preparatory education for students from preschool to 12th grade. Although many private and public schools also offer a rewarding education, we believe that the difference at CA lies in its people.
- Our dedicated faculty and staff are made up of highly qualified, godly men and women who love children and give many extra hours to provide them with the instruction and guidance they need.
- Our families are involved and active in our school programs and in the lives of their children providing a presence that is essential to forming young men and women of character and discipline.
- Our students are many things – unique, confident, artistic, athletic, generous, kind, driven, creative, intelligent and resourceful. It is a blessing to watch them grow physically, intellectually and spiritually every day.
The Board of Trustees has created a “Foundation Statement” that serves as a guide for the spiritual focus at Columbia Academy. It can be found HERE.
