Finally, as today many in our country recognize Juneteenth to celebrate the abolition of slavery in America, I want you to know that CA’s administration is mindful and prayerful of the racial inequality and racism that has plagued our nation for years. As we strive to follow the example of Christ in all things, we know that Jesus is anti-racism, and we are too. The scriptures teach, “there is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus” (Galatians 3:27,28). We also read that, “there is no partiality with God” (Romans 2:11), and Christ’s command to love our neighbors as ourselves includes everyone. As we strive to accomplish our school’s mission, it includes helping students become “Christlike in attitude and behavior.” We are committed to accomplishing that portion of our mission more effectively by helping our students learn (and learning from them as well) how we should treat those whose backgrounds are different than ours. We are having discussions and making plans about this, and I ask for your prayers as we strive to improve in this area.
